I do recall the stories the tales the lies and excuses

I can't remember the appeal
I do remember all that was revealed
I can't get back the wasted time
I can finally say I'm feeling fine

a slow burn and a long ride

except for tonight we’ll just pretend
a forever thing now cemented
in sighs of whispers under words of sade

until when only one smile remains
